  1. RE: Audio in Headset on Controller 100% gone

2 days ago all audio (mic and sound) stopped on all 3 of my controllers. I've spent about 3 hours or so checking settings, reading forums, troubleshooting and have found nothing to remedy this issue. Both of my headsets work just fine in my laptop and my
phone so it's not a headset issue. I've also tried using 2 of my ear buds with built in mic with same results. No sound no mic. What in the world happened to cause ZERO controller audio all on the same day?

When I go to Party Chat there's an error message that says "We can't find a microphone for these people". Then a yellow text link under that that says "Go to device settings". When I go there and choose the ... the volume is grayed out for all controllers
    connected.

I've performed a hard reset along with unplugging the xbox for 15 minutes.

I've checked the controller firmware. It's up to date.

Today I got fed up with this nonsense and did a factory reset on my xbox. After the reset STILL no audio through the controller.

Support please help. I don't need any links to troubleshooting articles. I've read them all.

    :)

RE: Audio in Headset on Controller 100% gone

Hi there. There is a known issue regaridng connection to party chat and also lack of audio and voice capabilities. The only thing that can do at the moment is just keep trying to restart the xbox now and then, clearing the cache, and disconnecting and
reconnecting the internet. Also can try to remove your account from xbox one and re add it this sometimes helps. I hope that it works for you soon and hope you are safe and well in these hard times.

My headphones work but why won't my mic ?

What brand of headsets are you trying? Have you gone to the settings menu to verify the controller is picking up the headset by accessing the audio menu?

Game audio through headset without adapter

    Other suggestions to think of:

    • Use a fresh change of batteries? Vibration and game audio gets disabled when the batteries run low.
    • Check for controller updates.
    • On "Headset Chat Mixer" slider bar, ensure it is set to at least (or at most) 50%. This balances game audio and chat audio from 100/0 to 0/100.
    • Ensure the 3.5mm audio connector is firmly connected into the controller's audio jack.
    • Test if your headphones aren't broken by connecting it to another audio source, like a laptop or MP3 player.
Hopefully it's one of these things!

    Headset/Mic Not Working

Have you tried reassociating your controller and/or headset with your profile? That may be needed to re-enable the console to see and use your headset properly again.
    Imstructions link?

also wouldnt the audio not work in headset and/or the controller buttons not work if the controller wasnt associated?

XBOX One Chat Adapter & Turtle Beach Issue

Actually the chat adapter that they are selling as of today does send both game audio and chat audio. There are even two buttons on the adapter itself that you can use to adjust the game audio vs chat audio percentage. The new Polk headset and the two
new Turtle Beach X1 headsets get all game and chat audio through the new stereo headset adapter that was released today.

I imagine that your modified version of the adapter is actually a much better solution for 3rd party headset users, because it was modified off of the chat microphone and adapter that came with the X1. It was designed to just deliver chat audio back and
    forth.

Now that Microsoft has gone down the road of both game and chat audio coming through the controller and adapter, it has changed the playing field. It is great if you use a headset that doesn't have any other audio signal coming to your headset.

Also, I did look through the link above. It is where I got the idea to turn game audio to 0% and chat audio to 100% coming through the adapter. Thanks for the idea though.
