RDR2 - cannot save game or use camera in RDO

I’ve tried reinstalling the game and restoring factory settings but nothing fixes this…any advice welcome!

I cannot save progress or load previous saves in RDR2 (Red Dead Redemption 2). In Red Dead Online I cannot use either camera without getting a black alert screen (no message other than ‘Alert’).

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I’ve also tried restoring factory settings. Nothing fixes it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If this is the only game that you're having an issue with it's best to reach out to the game support since this is an in-game issue for them to immediately conduct an investigation in fixing the issue.

Thanks, unfortunately Rockstar have been a bit hopeless just referring me here!! But I’ve now created an alternative account and everything works fine in that one so it must be an issue with my rockstar account somehow.

I found out that you need to purchase rdr2 online in order to play story mode this is something Rockstar has done not Xbox or Microsoft. I think this is a complete scam but there is nothing I can do about it.

Story Mode was always just a DLC for Red Dead Online and not separate game to be played. If you played it in the past, it may have been during the brief time that RDO was available through the Game Pass Library. That left the library some years ago.

One other question. My girlfriend is also playing RDR2 (under my account) but has saved her games in different slots in the Save menu. Will all of the saved games be there or will it only be the last one played? I believe there are 10 Save slots in RDR2
and I would like to move all of them.

Also I imagine it will load a LOT quicker on the new machine?

The reason why I am reaching out is because I have a Series S, and RDR2 in any way has Smart Delivery available. Unless I am not correctly comprehending.. can I select to install it on my console if I purchase it via laptop/phone?

In other words, can it get installed from another device if it does not have smart delivery?

I am pretty new to Xbox in general, and even newer to digital purchases, I appreciate your time.

Yes, I understand that I need Online to play Story Mode. However, I thought that maybe I could get RDO while I wait for RDR2 to get another discount. Thanks for the reminder
