Rainbow 6 unplayable

I purchased rainbow 6 seige a few months ago for $40 on xbox. We have not been able to play it at all without the subscriptions popping up. It's taken this long for me to reach out because I didn't prioritize this issue since my daughter was content with oculus and fortnite and other games. It comes up though when she actually wants to play r6. I know xbox gold isn't a thing anymore. But I feel like that isn't my issue (hasn't expired since conversion) because she is still able to play other online games like fortnite. Can someone please explain to my why I paid $40 for a game that I needed to have another subscription to? If I'm not mistaken, she can play that game with the subscription without having to buy it, hence wasting $40.

Gold was replaced with Game Pass Core. Game Pass Core (at the least) is still required to play online multiplayer. The only exception are free-to-play games. Which is why you can play Fortnite without a subscription, but Rainbow 6 does require a subscription to play online

If i use the brook adapter is playable on competitive games like rainbow six or overwath but with the elite controller is unplayable

Rainbow 6 Vegas would be nice. Cracking game!!

I might get excited if it's more like the original Rainbow 6 on Xbox, and less like Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 & 2.
