    Rage 2 not launching right after downloading and installing it


    I purchased Rage 2 a few weeks back and i haven’t had the luck to even see the game launcher come up.For the record, my PC matches the setting recommended by the game.

    Here’s the problem:

    I bought the game, downloaded its 44GB file of microsoft store and installed it. When i tried running it (normally and on admin mode) it open up an error dialog, collected some info and sent the report. I then tried disabling the antivirus program and ran
    Rage 2 again, and the same damn thing happened.

    Defeated i uninstalled the game and started again scratch i.e., downloaded and installed the game again. And the problem persists. I have tried every permutation and combination possible and nothing works. 88 GB of data downloaded, hours wasted and to top
    it i PAID for it. This wasnt out of game pass or x box live. I wanted to own it and i bought it.

    This is pathetic state of affairs. Either microsoft comes out and helps or i want a refund. That is the least they can do.

    Wow, I have gotten ping-ponged between Bethesda and Xbox. Without the data though I cannot even make an educated guess or actually not even a SWAG. Since data is getting sent to Bethesda (we think) sign up for a Bethesda.net account if you haven't already

    At the bottom of the page you will see submit a ticket. Do that.

    I will keep researching and will post any finds. Please do the same.

    Hey SuicideFlash,

    Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately while trying every possible option, the last thing i did was to “Reset” the app from the Settings menu advanced apps option. After that the rage 2 stopped responding...in the sense that it did nothing when i clicked on
    it.

    The only way to get the exact error is to download and install the game again 🤦‍♂️

    If it helps, what i remember is that when i used to click the app to open it, it used to throw an generic error saying “Rage 2 has failed to open”. It would then proceed to collect data (like realtime) and prompt me to send it, i suppose to Bethesda. I have
    done this step maybe 20 times.

    Any suggestion is welcome mate. I would hate to download the game again to be honest.

    So i have gone ahead created a Bethesda account. Created a ticket and sent them my DxDiag info (i trust its safe to do so).

    I do love the game Rage 2 and am sorry you are having the insane problem of getting it to launch. I really want to help you with it.

    I am not worried about your system being able to handle it. My system is at the bottom of the recommended and plays the game well (though it does raise the temperature of my room a tad).

    To troubleshoot, I will need that data you posted after the launch error. At least I need the launch error. After that, I will need some configuration data.

    Don't waste any more time and bandwidth with downloading again. In the future, we can check the hash mark and know if the download was good.

    Please reply with as much data as you can. I am excited to solve the issue and get you up running in one of my favorite games.
