Quick Resume will NEVER work after powering on (Series X + Energy Saving mode)

Wasn't Quick Resume point to "quick resume" any supported game even after a full power off of the console?

Well, this is never the case for my Series X set in Energy Saving mode.

ANY game I tried to play before regularly turning off my console (in Energy Saving) will NOT quick resume on the next power on.

The weird thing is that the same games will Quick Resume fine if cycled between them in the same play session or they will work after powering on in "Instant On" mode, but not at all in "Energy Saving".

I don't think this is normal behaviour.

Any suggestion on how to fix this other than waiting for the next Dashboard update?

    Thank you,

    P

Help! Post update can not connect to wireless network.

Are you in quick on mode or energy save mode? If you are using quick on you really havnt shut down the console at all. Change settings to energy saving, then power down completely and unplug to be sure. Wait the 5 mins or so and restart the console. I've
gotten hung up on things as well and the standard shut down never worked for me, so I always do this type of restart if I need to fully reset my console for anything. Good luck

Quick Resume: Fast boot: ✓, Energy saving: x

You haven't misunderstood it. Quick Resume is currently not working properly, and some games do not support it yet either. For now, it's best to save your game, and then quit out when you want to finish.

When will we be getting a way to limit the download speed the Xbox One uses?

xbox one is constantly updating your friends and feeds and so on , but it should not be doing it in energy-saving mode , it should be ALL the way off , that's why it takes so long to boot up in that mode...maybe yours isn't in that mode or it isn't working
    properly...

    Energy-saving power mode

In energy-saving power mode, your console is shut down to save energy. In this mode:

•Updates are not downloaded and installed until your console is turned on.

•Your console takes 45 seconds to start up.

•You must press the Xbox button to start the console.

    Notes

•In energy-saving mode, the PSU is in off/standby mode and the solid orange LED on the PSU is bright.

•The console uses 0.5 watts of power when in energy-saving mode.

so if the psu is off , I don't see how it could use the internet...

Quick Resume broken by latest Xbox update

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with quick resume.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

To set your expectation properly, other gamers have noticed that after the April 30, 2026 update, Quick Resume especially for games like Red Dead Redemption 2 has become far less reliable it is because quick Resume relies on your console staying in a sort of “semi-active” memory state, and changes in the update have affected how the hardware handles power modes.

Switching the power mode from the default “low power” setting to “standby” is the best workaround because the standby mode helps keep more of the console’s state active, which could be why Quick Resume starts working again for you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Xbox Series X power saving not working

It doesn't work. It takes the same amount of power as the energy saving mode.
