    Quick Playback Controls for Plex


    Having quick controls for spotify and pandora are great, but most of my music and playlists are housed in Plex. It would be great to have those quick controls function with Plex.

    It's been eight months. I would like my "all in one" to stream from network already.

    i have adapted, i have Plex server streaming to a Chromecast that is currently plugged into my Xbox, and use the Plex app to navigate and control the media, so much better than using the 360. can't wait until a Plex app is released for the X1.

    DLNA Video Support / Media Center?

    You can easily play to the One by opening an app on my Surface Pro 2 or 8.1 Desktop PC; something like Music, Video, PLEX (for those who use PLEX), or Hyper for YouTube. This does require you to install Xbox Music and Video on the Xbox One.

    Afterwards, All you do is:

    •Open one of the aforementioned apps

    •Choose something to play

    •Begin playback

    •Bring up Charms and select Devices, then "Play" from the choices presented

    •Choose the Xbox from the list and this instantly pushes what you're playing onto the Xbox

    There are some file formats that will not play to the system, but this method does work for the most part.

    Over a week ago, I ordered an Xbox One + Kinect for the hand control feature in Plex. Yesterday, I received an Xbox One + Kinect without the hand control feature in Plex, Hulu, or XBOE. Is that not even a little bit of bait-and-switch?

    In my experience, it's just not fair to sell an item to us as having a certain feature set but remove parts of that feature set during the unboxing and upgrading; it's not illegal but it's a little illegitimate.

    Windows Media Player already installed in Windows 7 (or a free download if you have the N version). Xbox One Media Player to play that content. You can control all playback functions with Kinect.

    Alternatively purchase NAS with built in media server. Use Xbox One's Media Player to playback content. Use Kinect to control playback.

    Buy a media remote if you don't have Kinect.

    You seem to be adding needlessly complex steps to your media playback.

    Yes it will work with the One X Console. The Xbox One Media Remote lets you control video playback for Blu-ray movies and streaming video on Xbox One*. Additionally, there are dedicated Back and OneGuide buttons.
    The OneGuide button provides one-touch, quick access to your favorite TV shows and movies through the Xbox program guide
