Questions concerning 3rd party resellers

I have searched all over the internet and can't get an answer to my question. So i figured the Xbox forums would be the most reliable place to ask.

I found a few websites that offer discounted digital games. These sites have good reviews and feedback, or at least similar to any good seller on Ebay or Amazon so it appears to be safe. The process states that you receive an account which you sign into
and are then able to download the game that you purchased. This involves changing the home Xbox setting to the new account, which is limited to 3 times a year. I would certainly buy more than 3 games a year at these discounted prices. So here are my questions.

    1. First off what is Microsoft's view on websites that offer these kind of services?

    2. Is this legal and acceptable? (will i be banned?)

    3. Would Microsoft reset the My Home Xbox counter to allow me to purchase more than 3 games in a year from these sites?

Please only answer if you 100% know the answers to my questions, i don't need to be flamed or attacked by keyboard warriors. I simply want to know if this process is legal and mostly what Microsoft's view on it is.

    :)

Will it work in Hong Kong?

    @ReaperLivepl

and then what ? You region is set either to US or UK, you have to buy scratch cards via Amazon or other 3rd party resellers because I'm pretty sure they won't allow you to use credit card etc.

    MS Store already posting charges?
7.625! Id take that over my 8.75%
If I lived 100yds East of my current address I would be paying 8.725% (and living in a worse town).

Gotta love the almighty dollar huh?

These reports of people getting shipping notifications from 3rd party resellers and such is getting me all amped up.

    Questions concerning 3rd party resellers

Selling accounts is against the Xbox Live Code of Conduct and Terms of Use and there is a risk of enforcement actions being taken against the accounts (which would revoke your access to the games) or even the console itself.

I don't know about "illegal" but it's certainly against the rules of the Xbox Live service.

    I hope that clarifies things.

See, that's what i assumed. But right after I posted this I went onto the Live chat support and the agent told me it was fine. I explained the process exactly and was told Microsoft was okay with it. Told them specific websites and everything. I was
hoping an actual Microsoft employee who knows could tell me for sure. Because now I'm just as confused as when i started. Now i'm not sure if the live chat agent knew or not.

What the Support Agent told you is incorrect.

Here is the Xbox Live Code of Conduct in full:

    www.xbox.com/.../codeofconduct

    The relevant passage is:
Don’t engage in fraud or unauthorized transactions. For example, don't:

    - Lend, transfer, sell, or otherwise provide third parties access to your accounts or Gamertags

    - Access or attempt to access accounts that you do not own
While the websites in question should probably review this line:
Don’t use Xbox Live for commercial purposes. For example, don't:

    - Create an account for a business entity
I hope this makes the situation clearer. Let us know if you have further questions.

Microsoft Unwilling to Honor Xbox One X Warranty

Actually that's the issue. There are a lot of 3rd party resellers and they are not authorized resellers. You're going to need to reach out to Amazon to see if they can help.

Microsoft Store wont let me install Gears 5 without also installing Gears or War 4

I bought the key/code from a 3rd party reseller. Its downloading right now and in my library, it's called "Gears 5 and bonus Gears of War 4".
