  1. Questions about 1440P Native Coming to Xbox One X

First off, just want to say this is a very smart move by Microsoft because this allows for hardcore gamers like myself to hit a sweet spot on the new console. Anyway you look at it, its a sweet spot because mostly any game that gets enhanced will be in 4K
(whether native or checkerboard) so if you have a 1440p monitor, you'll always either get a Supersampled image, or native 1440p if the game is rendered at 1440p. Whereas those with a 4K monitor/TV, you'll get a better image with 4K games, but any game that
comes out under 4K will have to be upscaled which is never that good looking. So after hearing about 1440P coming to Xbox One X, I started to wonder a couple of things because I feel Microsoft needs to be more vocal about all these enhancements, especially
on HOW they work, how we know if the patches are installed, what graphical enhancements do we get when they don't give us options within the settings (Ex: 4K30fps or 1080p60fps), when are the updates coming, etc.

So after the update for native 1440p comes out...

    1) If we have a 1440p monitor, will games that render at 4K be supersampled down to 1440p or 1080p. Because all that was confirmed was a game rendering at 1440p will be outputted native over HDMI to a 1440p monitor.

    2) For games with enhancement options, for example, in games that give you the choice between 4K 30FPS or 1080p 60FPS within the settings, how will that work with a 1440p monitor? The 4K option goes back to question #1 about supersampling etc. and the 1080p
effectively means the image will be upscaled which is crap. So, if I would rather have 60FPS instead of 4K 30FPS, then I'm stuck with an upscaled image which I don't want (I guess its better than being upscaled all the way to 4K though). So are they going
to add a 1440p option as well or no?

As much as I'm enjoying my Xbox One X, I'm more confused over the console itself than anything. I have no clue if the patches are downloaded, if I received any graphical updates at all because I dont have another Xbox to compare, and no confirmation or word
on anything involving how 1080p works specifically with each game (all they've told us is "it will run better on an Xbox One X" when using a 1080p screen).

-Sorry for the long post but this console has been more confusing than any other and just would like Microsoft to explain more in detail and be vocal about it all.

    :)

    1440p was
    confirmed
for future support, but there's been no clear date or anything about when it's coming (except for "coming soon").

    Really native 4K 60FPS?

Hello. I've preorder the New XBOX ONE X console and "Super Lucky's Tale" game. Please, can someone promise that this game will really run in NATIVE 4K (3840×2160) and not just in 1440p using checkboarding upscale? I've asked because the most trailers
and game footages in E3 uses just 1440p and checkboard upscaling. Thank you.

Displaying 1440p on Xbox one X

    Hi,

The question I have is why are you trying to use 1440P on a 4K TV with Xbox?

If you were using such a resolution on a PC for gaming I could understand, but with your TV 1440P won't make any difference.

    • If you own an Xbox One X, enhanced 4K games will still run in 4K even in 1440P. You won't see any performance increase.
    • Running at a none native resolution will make the display image softer. Best to run your TV in its native resolution.

    Xbox in game resolution

I have tried trouble shooting the resolution but the game it’s self looks pixelated playing at 1080p on a 1440p monitor when I play any game on the Xbox series s. but if I play the same game on the Xbox one x it plays at the native resolution at 1440p

Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

Yeah, my bad - its 1440p/120hz OR 1080p/60hz with freesync .

My question is - is it possible to turn on freesync 2 with this Agon monitor in 1440p/60hz on xbox one x?
