Question for the 'Original' Call Of Duty 4 players

I can still go back and play COD 4 and I love it. I've put roughly 50 days played into that game.

I love almost all the maps. They seem to have a great flow. There are ways to counter every position, but there aren't 7 different ways in to every room.

The guns just sound amazing. Something about the pop-pop-pop of the mp5, the power of the ak 47 and the destruction of the m60 just hit the right cord.

The maps and guns just don't pull me in the same way.

Am I blinded by some weird nostalgia? Or were the maps and guns more enjoyable?

Does anyone remember when someone made the first remix of all the COD 4 guns into a song?

I'm excited to see what a 'new' development team will do with the franchise. I hope they hit the nail on the head!

this game will be even worse than mw3 it looks very kidified, a sfor cod4 they were a totally different team who made it, bad thing about cod 4 is the quickscopers thats all you seem to hear and get, as for the maps they were great because there was effort
put into their design and there were fewer buildings to camp in and there wasnt any ridiculous killstreaks etc

 

cod 4 is my 2nd favorite call of duty black ops 2 is my number 1 because of zombies.

 

This is what I keep saying to people, CoD needs to go back to barebones. No fancy equipment, perks or killstreaks. Just the basics. I also think DLC needs to slow down and microtransactions need to go away all together. Now the developers seem to be more
focused on huge profit margins by selling DLC instead of making an enjoyable game that plays well. But you can't even really blame them since people are stupid and buy space cat camos.

 

You're not blinded. They really haven't put out a great game like Cod4 since...Cod4. It was fun and fast. Good times!

 

mp5 with silencer i mean tell me what gun sounds as sweet as that in the recent cods, they put the rpd in mw2 and it just didnt sound the same, it was like a digital noise less kick etc etc, mw2 onwards they just cater for the kids hence the easy kills less
weapon sway etc and silly killstreaks, too much greed now and look wats happened to cod because of it

 

Have to agree, none of the cod's have been anywhere near as good as cod4 since it was released. The online was fantastic.

 

whats killed cod4 are the qs and rapid fire controllers

 

Also agree about COD4 being the best, for me the thing I miss the most was the Audio.

I run all my games through my AVR to my 5.1 system and the sound was incrediable, I could hear every footstep and tell from where they were coming. NONE of the following games had the quality of sound that COD4 did, all they have done is make it bigger and
louder but lost all the detail.
