Question about the Groove music app

With the new dashboard am I able to play music through Groove in the background of a usb storage device? or is there another app I can use?

Are you using the old Music app or the new Groove app. Microsoft changed from Xbox Music to Groove recently.

Unfortunately there isn't currently an option to view music videos in the Xbox One Groove Music App. You should still have access to all of your music still. If you have any questions or concerns on purchases please reach out to
Groove Support.

 

The Xbox One does not yet support background music, yet. The Update is just new and there should be a new update within the next days giving you background music.

 

Why would they says its ready if its really not thats just not cool

 

Its really upsetting to hear but currently not everything in the update will always work.

 

I agree that this is upsetting. It would have been better to wait to announce background music or at least set a date for the actual release. After porting over all my music and purchasing Groove music pass only to find that it really isn't released yet
is very disappointing. This is a terrible way to release this update. As I open Groove on my Xbox and get sent to a dead link for the old app, I just turn off my Xbox.

 

Hey all,

There is actually an app out right now that allows this. Just search for "Simple Background Music Player" on the store and you'll find an app that will allows you to use music from a USB drive to listen to in the Background.
