Question about Seagate Storage Expansion Card

Let's say I have 30GB left on my Series X internal SSD and need to install a game that takes up 50GB. So I put in a new 1TB Seagate Storage Expansion Card and install the game. Does that expansion card act like an extension of the internal SSD, so that the game would install across both SSDs? In other words, will the remaining 30GB on my internal SSD be utilized + 20GB of the 1TB expansion card? Or does that 30GB remaining on the internal SSD go to waste and all 50GB install on the 1TB expansion card?

    :)

The reason why I asked was because they talk about "seamless integration" in the product description for the Seagate SSD, so I just wondered if the hardware was designed to behave that way seeing as it's a proprietary port and all. I knew for sure that external drives via USB didn't do that.

Question about Seagate Storage Expansion Card

Hello, . I'm Arturo, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today. No, the expansion card doesn't act like an extension of the internal Xbox storage. It's a separate storage device, so following your example: If you have 30 GB left and want to install a 50 GB game on your console, the 50 GB will be stored on the expansion card and your Xbox will still have the 30 GB of free storage. I hope you find this answer helpful to your inquiry. However, I'll remain attentive to any other one you may have. Regards, Arturo.
Thanks, Arturo. I figured that was probably the case, but just wanted to be sure.

Yeah, I actually had forgotten that there's no way to run games directly from a drive connected through the USB bus. Anyway, I'm just glad these expansion cards exist, even if they don't function as JBOD with the internal SSD.
