Question about replacing a disk version of Skyrim with a digital download version

Hi there,

So each of my boys have an xbox 360, and they both play Skyrim, which they do by trading off the disk when each play. Tonight they have indicated that the disk is scratched and unreadable. So my queistions are:

1) If I purchase the download version from MS, can I download it on both consoles or do I need to purchase twice ?

2) If I purchase and download the digital version, will they lose their progress and addins/expansions they have purchased ?

Buying Disc and Digital Of Same Game Question

I bought the disk version of bf4 and later on wanted the digital version so i can switch without inserting the disk, you don't have to re download the game if you installed it with the disk all you download is the digital license witch takes about 10 seconds.

Halo MCC won't load........at all

Do you have any friends that own a disk version of the game? You could always install it via disk, then just hit download on his digital version. This will over ride the disks data and make it a digital copy. Might solve the issue if the full digital download
data is corrupting somehow and saves your buddies time in having to re download.

1) When you purchase content it is tied to the gamertag that purchased it as well as the console it was purchased on. The console license allows all profiles on that console to access the content. The gamertag that purchased the console can use the content
on any console as long as they are signed into Live. So in order to not have to pay twice, you would need to purchase it on one console and the account the purchased it would have to sign into the other console in order for them to play on both consoles.

2) No. Games saves and other add-ons are saved separately from the actual game file.

Installs from dvd still require the dvd still in drive

You would have to purchase the games with gold version just like any other God version

Bc doesn't replace disks only digital versions can play without

You do have to download the patch but the disk is still required

unlikely for the digital versions as they replace the main download with the updated versions.

Have not bought anything but Mass effect and Arkham city were a good price. Probably just buy the disk versions of the games though as I prefer disks over digital downloads. Don't get me wrong digital versions are just as good as disk versions but my preference
is game disks, something tangible to keep.
