Question about Microsoft points

This post, in Xbox general discussion, is regarding Microsoft Points bought for my Xbox 360.

I have a lot of points saved up. It seems unfair that I can't purchase my Xbox live gold membership or a Netflix Membership with my available points. This should be one of the ways you can spend MS points because I feel it is unsafe and unnecessary to use
a Credit Card on Xbox Live when you can just purchase prepaid cards and redeem the codes.

It also seems unfair that I can't give or trade Microsoft Points with my friends, as I have enough to last me till the Xbox 720 comes out.

That leads me to my last point, will I be able to use Microsoft Points I have now, with the Xbox 360, with both the 360 and 720 when next gen has started?

Hey mate, I can't find a link that lays it out, but basically MS currency is locked to the region you buy them in so if you were to buy him points/ms currency make sure they are for the US region and not Canada.

I don't want to trade porn and I definitely agree that the xbox should not be used for it.

But I think that it would be a good idea to be able to make games, that are approved by Microsoft, that you purchase as gifts and then you could trade them with friends or others, or open it for yourself if you can't get the trade you wanted.

But thank you for agreeing that MSP should be able to be used for other things.

If the xbox becomes a porn machine, which it shouldn't, due to trading, then I don't want that to happen.

I really hope though that my MSPs don't become worthless on the 720 though.

Actually you are wrong about being paranoid about my CC. I used to have it on xbox live, but when they charged me for another year of gold automatically it kind of pissed me off. The reason I don't have my CC on now is cause A) I don't need to because I
have so many MS points from preordering select games from the MS store, B) My CC expired and I haven't updated with the new CC info.

But here is the real point of this all, Steam lets you do it for games that are gifts, so why not microsoft? You can't say the tech isn't there for trades, because it is.

If there is any security problems with trading xbox dlc and full game dlc and Ms points, make the transaction go into escrow and take a few days, throwing a number out there like 7-10 days, for the transaction to be finalized. They will send you an email,
maybe with security questions, and maybe just to click on a link which would record the IP they are using. But it would still stay in escrow because they might have hijacked your email and xboxlive account. Basically this is to protect the victims of hijacking
and make sure that it is a trade that they wanted to make. The point being is that you will check your email at least once a week or play your xbox at least once a week. On the xbox there should be a pop up screen as long as it is in escrow, everytime you
turn on the xbox. It would be annoying but it would stop theft and trading theft and stop a lot of the new reasons to hijack any account
