Question about disc to digital ?

Good question. I havent heard about the digital upgrade, but with the disc, I think you have to trade it in to get the 10 dollar upgrade.

Hi, i was thinking about purchasing an Xbox one s all digital console. My question is about games i own on disc. If i migrate to one of these consoles and sign in with my xbox live account, will i have to purchase all my games i own on disc again
digitally or will i get to download them free of charge as i already own them. Thanks in advance.

yes you would need digital copys even if you own the discs for the xb1 sad

Even if Microsoft released an update to perform the suggestion you are talking about you would still need a readable disc to play the game. If this update came out, there's nothing to stop you from doing the digital install and then selling your disc. This
is why gamer's have to make a decision when it comes to digital vs. disc. Unfortunately in this case, the only solutions we can offer is if you buy digital OR if you buy a new disc-based version of the game. Sorry to hear about the bad news with your original
