Question about Auto-Off and Game Progress

Hello all,

Yesterday I was playing the Campaign for Halo 5: Guardians, and a buddy of mine called. I paused my game and left the console be, and after an hour of being paused/idle, my Xbox One X shut itself down per the Console Settings I have set up. I
was still mid-Mission at the time.

I rebooted up the console right after, and after signing in to my Profile, I fired up _Halo 5: Guardians_, and it immediately took me back to the exact same place I had left off, the game still "paused!" I was surprised, as I expected it to take me back
to the beginning of the Checkpoint!

Note I use Energy Saver settings for my console.

Does an Xbox One remember placement like this in games if it just shuts off? If so, I didn't know that!

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. In your case the console basically went into sleep mode. Personally have shut my console off with holding the Xbox button on the controller and going to turn off console. When I turned the console on again, it was at
exact same spot in game. This is also like I sleep mode. The only truely way of shutting it down completely is when you tap the Xbox button go to turn off console, or by holding the power button on the console until it shuts off.

The Xbox One also has an auto-resume feature. So you can leave the game to go to the dashboard and use a different app and as long as you haven't gone through the menu to actually quit the game, the game is still running in the back ground so you
can pick it back up.

This happens even if the console shuts off? I know about the auto-resume feature, but I didn't think it works when the console shuts down.

Thanks for the quick reply! The interesting thing is I had to fully log into my account again and relaunch _Halo 5: Guardians_ from the dashboard. The console did shut off it seems, and didn't go to sleep.

Another question for Question 1: If i turn off the auto-renewal, and then sign up for the free trial, then they will not get my money? And also where is the Auto-renewal to turn it off because i cant find it.

The question 2 is solved for now.
