Question about able to play xbox games on xbox 360

i been looking into this for quite sometime and i notice a selective amount of games from the original xbox system can be played on the xbox 360 with an hard drive. And now i been wondering does this also count towards the new slimmer xbox 360. Would like
to play some old school nba street or nfl street on my 360.

Getting the Reverse Compatibility Update

So I'm still trying to get my GTA San Andreas Xbox original game to work on my Xbox. I've read about a reverse Compatibility Update that would allow me to play Xbox originals games. My question is, if I get this update, will I still be able to play Halo:
Reach and other Xbox 360 games? (That's if I'm able to downgrade).

To play any of the supported Xbox games on your 360, you need a hard drive. Makes sense, since all Xboxes came with one, unlike the 360 which gave choice in storage.

But yeah, this doesn't change in the newer SKUs. Have a hard drive? Your game is supported? Pop it in and play!

 

i got an hard drive, 350GB hard drive to be precise. just wanted to get a 100% conformation that old/original xbox games works on the newer slim 360. and i thank you for responding.

 

As long as your console has an Official Xbox 360 hard drive and the game is compatible you shouldn't have any problems.

A 350gb hard drive doesn`t sound official.

Only an official hard drive has the built in hardware/software to make original xbox games playable on the 360.

 

Cut a little typo slack there....If the game you're thinking about getting is on the list that Auswolf7 posted, get it, you're safe. I didn't see Street Vol 2, but I did see 3, didn't see the other one you wanted. If it's not on the list, ask around. The
ones on the list were 'tested' and will generally work no problems. I can tell you that the Nightmare Before Christmas game does not work on the 360. :/
