Purchasing games for windows pc

Hi I apologizeif this is in the wrong spot or has a thread else where but when purchasing windows pc games from the windows store how do you select the console you wish to buy the games for? i want to buy State of Decay 2 but it
shows up as Xbox one are they the same as PC or is there a different order method ?

Gears of War 4 pre-order question

I am aware of the new "Play Anywhere" program Microsoft recently introduced that will give players a free digital copy of GoW 4 for Windows 10 upon purchasing it for Xbox one. I currently do not own a Windows 10 capable PC and am wondering if I could give
a friend who does own a Windows 10 PC the other copy for PC. I am just curious.

The Windows Phone version of this game and the Windows 8 PC version of this game are completely different. They will get different updates. Purchasing them on one platform won't give it to you on another, sorry.

When you pull up a game there's a section in the description that says "Available On". If it shoes PC, then it's only available on the PC. Most of the games you see through the Windows Store will be for the PC.

There are some games, like State of Decay 2 that are Play Anywhere titles. So they will show as being available on PC and Xbox One because the one purchase will work on both.

Unfortunately no. Even though the game was released for PC, it's not available for purchase on the Windows store. It would have to be purchased through Steam, Epic's game store, or another service in order to buy the PC version.

Sounds to me like they aren't signed in with the same account they used before. To download previously purchased games again on a new system or otherwise, they need to be signed in with the same account that purchased the game/s.

Xbox Companion App is for streaming games from an Xbox console to a PC. The Xbox App for PC is used for PC Game Pass, if you don't have Game Pass Ultimate or just Game Pass PC, you don't need to use this app as purchased games can be downloaded using the Windows Store App in Windows 10.
