To use the us marketplace you need a us billing option

Even if you buy us prepaid code changing the region in the console won't work

You would still need a valid payment option for the us

So I'm trying to purchase a game ($69) via the web store and my $73 credit isn't showing as a payment option. I have to add that the notification email sent regarding my expiring credit explicitly stated that "You can use your promotional balance before
it expires to buy apps, games, music, and more at any of the following stores...", with links to the relevant web stores. So far it seems that I can only use my credit purchasing apps through the windows and windows phone store on my devices.

My xbox is in transit so am unable to make the purchase through it. What other options are available to me? Buying $50 of phone apps is not going to make my day...

Unfortunately, this isn't a feature available.

Even though it's not available as mentioned above you can game share from your old account to your new one.

I am trying to ‘purchase’ the game through the Xbox One store directly from the ‘ad’ saying it’s available for gold (and should be for ultimate). Though I’ll look into getting the game through the web in case that solves anything.

Please try to log out then log back into your account on the Microsoft Store app and check if that sorts out the issue.

The other option would be to use the Microsoft Store's web browser version and search for the game from there. You can try purchasing it from there as well.
