Purchasing 2nd hand xbox1 with 12 games on external HD

Someone is Selling a 500GB xbox 1 with 12 games (some are online games to be used with xbox live account) on a 3 TB external Hard Drive. My question is, if I were to purchase this system with the 12 games on the external HD will I be able to login to MY
XBOX LIVE account and have access/online access to play these games? Or are they some how connected/sync to HIS MS LIVE account and would be unplayable for me under MY account? He says he does not have the hard copy of the games so I assume he must have
bought them and downloaded them to the external 3T Hard drive. Any insight or answers would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this question has been asked and answered in the past or if I am posting under the wrong forum, and redirection or links would
also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can I use an external HD say 1GB for a xbox1? will be used for game saves and downloaded demo games from xbox live.

Is the XBOX360 on its way out? I have noticed that more new releases games are only on the XBOX1. Take the new Batman game and Halo 5.and I could go on.

 

Games are tied to the account that purchased them and cannot be transferred to other accounts.

As Smwutches mentioned, games are tied to an account and cannot be transferred. To further expand on that, the only way the games on that Xbox One would be playable to you, on your account, would be on the purchasing account's (the one that originally purchased
the games) home console. Once the purchasing account changes its home console, the games would become unplayable to any user on the previous home console.

So let me just clarify this sorry, so if I purchased the used xbox 1 console and the 3T External HD (with the 12 games on it) Once the original xbox live account that purchased the games originally and saved them to the external HD and were to register a
new console system using the xbox live account that originally purchased the games, this would make the games one the console he sold to me unplayable, even though they are on a separate external HD?

 

If he sets another console as his Home console, then yes. You would no longer be able to play the games unless you purchase them yourself.

Due to what Smwutches and Mistress Sara mentioned, it is not recommended you purchase a used Xbox One console with any sort of promise from the seller regarding you being able to access digital game licenses that you were purchased by the seller's account because
these licenses are only actually owned by the user who made the purchases.

You would not own those licenses even if you used
Home Console designation and once there is a change in that Home Console designation, you would not longer be able to play those games at all.

In addition to that, something like purchasing another user's account is against the
Xbox Code of Conduct and could result in enforcement action.
