Purchased XBoxOne game on Wrong Account

I purchased the electronic version of Battlefield V for my son for Christmas but it is showing on my account. We need the game on his account. I don't own an Xbox One. Help - we want to give him the game. Already tried calling - the billing folks referred
me to the Refunds page. I don't need a refund! Besides, the refund page says we cannot get a refund since it's been past 14 days.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you purchased Battlefield V for your son but accidentally did so from your own account instead of his. At that point there is only a couple of available options.

1. Sign in with your Microsoft Account on his Xbox One. (Once your account is on the Xbox One and made home console the game can be downloaded from your profile and then played with any other account)

2. Try to get a refund for the purchase and then purchase using the "Purchase as a gift" option or making the purchase off of the correct account.

Please give these options a try and let us know with a reply how it goes.

NOTE: There is no way to move content from one account to another.

You'll need to contact
Xbox Live Support ... no guarantees, but they MIGHT be able to move it.

The alternative is what Smwutches advised - set your account to his console as its Home Xbox.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. You would have to get a refund and then repurchase it on the correct account basically, but since it has been over 14 days as you said, it may not be possible.

Alternatively, you can sign into his console and set it as his Home console in order for him to be able to play the game. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/my-home-xbox

Thanks for the clarification. I have heard a couple of users say it has been done in the case of what was described (an accidental purchase intended for a different account) but if there isn't one, there isn't one.
