Purchased Xbox Live Gold, can't seem to do anything with it.

Xbox live gold purchased sept 14. Age seems to be fine on settings but it won't let me do anything on ultimate team or play online.

Not sure what else to try...any ideas?

not having any issues with some of the stuff on my xbox one, but the big problem i'm having is since the backwards compatibility announcement caused chaos on xbox live servers, my xbox live gold which i only purchased a 12 month subscription last month has
downgraded to basic, and can't do anything other than use youtube and a couple of the disc based xb1 games. even when i go on the site through my laptop, it tells me to sign up for gold too. so it seems to be a bigger problem than thought

Unfortunately, this isn't anything you are doing wrong but at this time currency in your Microsoft Account can't be used to purchase an Xbox Live Gold Membership, which is stated in their

Currency FAQ. For now you will need to purchase an Xbox Live Membership Card from a local retailer or use another payment option to purchase the membership online or via your console. Hope this answers your question!

Seems like the issue is not regarding to your game edition it is due to your subscription. The game requires Xbox Live Gold subscription to play it. It’s either you will purchase Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since the Ultimate included Xbox Live Gold as well.
