Purchased minecraft pc windows 10 for child

Minecraft for Windows 10 is only for the PC. If you purchased and played on the Xbox, then you own the Xbox version of Minecraft. You would need to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 in order to play it on the PC.

I am sure it's very frustrating that you cannot access your account to adjust these settings for the child account. To better understand how I can help you please answer these questions:

• When you're trying to login, does it ask for your email or phone number for two-step verification?
  
• If it's asking for your phone number, is it just asking for the last four digits of your phone number?
  
• Does it prompt you to go to the account.live.com website to fix the issue?
  
• If you navigate to account.live.com and microsoft.com and login with the same credentials, does this same issue pop up? Or does this only happen when you try to login to the link provided in the email?
  
• Have you tried to set up the child account from Microsoft support resources? Here's the alternative link to set up a family account where you can manage child accounts. Does this portal allow you to login?
  
• Can you please provide the link in your response (not the full email you received). I would like to see if I can test the link to reproduce your issue.

Hi drew TBH after several restarts it appeared in the store libary. Then got stuck for hours at pending. this led to eventually having the reset MS store and it then allowed Minecraft to work! So issue 1 is resolved

Trouble is now MS store has stopped working and the last thing that should fix this, powershell also isnt working either!

Glad to hear that you got Minecraft working but ran into some issues with Microsoft Store not working for you. Please try these steps and let me know if any of them work for you:

Delete the Windows Store cache:

• Press Windows key or open Windows Start, then type wsreset in the search bar
  
• Right-click on wsreset.exe and select Run as Administrator
  
• This will clean the Windows Store cache. Make sure you don’t press anything while the command prompt is working.
  
• Windows Store will open when it’s been reset and you should restart your PC.
  

To reset it:

1. Open the settings by pressing the Windows + i keys
2. Go to Apps> Applications and features.
3. Select the Microsoft Store application and then click Advanced Options.
4. Click the Reset button.
5. Confirm the reset by clicking on Reset again.

Run troubleshooter:

1. Open Settings again (Windows + i)
2. Go to Update & Security> Troubleshooting.
3. Select Windows Store Applications and then click the Run Troubleshooter button.
4. The utility will launch and check for problems that are preventing the Microsoft Store from functioning properly. If it detects anomalies, follow its recommendations.
5. When the problems are resolved, close the utility.

This next step requires powershell. I would check and see if you can repair your windows image by opening command prompt as administrator and typing:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

The Repair a Windows Image resource has additional troubleshooting steps to try and resolve your issue under "repair an image." If the issue persists, I highly recommend opening a question under the "Windows" category in the forums, as I am able to support Xbox app related issues but unable to perform deep troubleshooting for powershell. If this does resolve your issue, move on to this next step below:

Reinstall Microsoft Store:

1.Open Windows PowerShell as administrator. To do this, right click on the start button and click on 'Windows Shell (admin)'
2. To reinstall the Microsoft Store app, enter the following command (you can copy and paste:
Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register '$ ($ _. InstallLocation) \\ AppXManifest.xml'}

Did you purchase Minecraft or Minecraft for Windows 10? If you went through the website, you may have purchased Minecraft which is for the console, not Minecraft for Windows 10 which is for the PC.
