Purchased Minecraft for PC and now it will not launch without paying for Live

I purchased a standalone copy of Minecraft for PC on my Windows 11 computer and now out of no where it is telling me I have to renew my Xbox Live Gold in order to play. I also purchased a standalone copy for my daughter's computer so we can play on our LAN together. After reading through some posts, I did the "GET" option instead of play in the store and the Minecraft launcher loads, but is asking me to buy Minecraft yet again. I've purchased numerous copies over my lifetime including the one for this current PC. How do I go about playing the copy of Minecraft I purchased without having to buy Xbox Live Gold? I am looking to play offline or on our LAN, which should not require gold. My daughter's also loads np and mine will not load anything. Upon trying to start the launcher or minecraft it tells me to renew my Xbox Live Gold.

Sorry to hear about that, however, please note that gold isn't required if you play on PC.

Thus, you would just need to ensure that you're signed in on the Microsoft store app and Xbox app using the account that you used to buy the game.

If it still won't work, try to check if there are pending updates on your PC. This includes optional updates as well.

Go to your PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates

If it has, check your Microsoft store app > Library > Get Updates and ensure that your apps are up to date.

If it still won't work, try to repair your Xbox app, Gaming Services app and Microsoft store app, by going to your PC settings > Apps > Installed apps > click the 3 dots > Advance options > Repair and do this to the other apps I've listed > Restart your PC.

Minecraft is not a play anywhere game so it is not possible to play it on PC without purchasing the pc version of the game.

You would have to purchase the PC version in order to play on the PC.

In order to purchase a game on the Xbox or PC and play it on both without purchasing it twice is if the game is a Play Anywhere title. Unfortunately Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title.

The account would own the console version of Minecraft. You would need to purchase the PC version in order to play it on PC.

Some games support Play Anywhere which will allow you to play on both console and PC without having to purchase the game twice, but Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title.
