Purchased Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition, No Halo Wars Definitive Edition code

Hi there,

Purchased Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition from Amazon (the bundle that includes the Season Pass and HWE) and have not received a code for Halo Wars Definitive Edition yet. Store says I own it, but "does not work on this device." I haven't received the code via
X-Box message as I was supposed to. Can you please assist?

Hi I recently purchased Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition but have not received my code to download Halo Wars The Definitive Edition yet.

I purchased halo wars 2 ultimate edition under the impression that i would receive halo wars definitive edition on the 20th of December, I have yet to receive a code for halo wars.

 

If you purchased and redeemed the digital version of Halo Wars 2 after the release, a code will not be sent out. Instead, you will be able to download the game directly through the Xbox Store on the account that digitally owns Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition
on your Xbox One console.

Are you seeing the 'Does not work on this device' error on the Xbox One console, or on a Windows 10 PC? Additionally, have you checked your 'Ready to install' on your Xbox One console to see if the game is there?

Try downloading the game on your Xbox One console and let us know how it goes.

 

I don't have an X-Box One. I purchased the game because it was Play Anywhere (like Gears of War 4) because I have a Windows 10 PC. I have Halo Wars 2 installed and have already finished the campaign. I have not received the code for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition
that was included with the HW2 Ultimate Edition yet.

 

Thanks for clarifying! Have you checked the 'My library' section of the Windows Store on Windows 10? You can find that section by clicking on your Microsoft Account picture in the upper left portion of the Windows Store. If you see it there, try downloading
and keep us posted on the results!

 

I have. It's listed there, but under "Does not work on this device." I ordered the game from Amazon, and it was a pre-order code, and I was told by Support that I would receive this code within 7 days. It's been 7 days since I purchased it, and I have not
received the code for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. I've attached an image of My Library with the game in question. There is no button to download it.

 

There are no codes sent out for purchases made after the release, and that screenshot does confirm you already own the game since it's in your library. If it is showing under 'Does not work on this device', try searching for and installing the 'Halo' app
from the Windows Store. Within that app, click on the controller icon on the left portion and then try installing Halo Wars: Definitive Edition through that app.

In the Halo App, there's a "buy now" button and a "more info" button.

I was told by support that a code would be sent out, but I'm closing on 10 days and no code. I purchased this from Amazon, and it's a pre-order code.

 

Disregard. Game has now showed up with no announcement in my Windows Store app as playable.

This was a really inconvenient way of distributing content.

 

So, it just randomly showed up in your library with no fanfare or anything?

I've been waiting 8 days now and no dice, maybe it's because it officially releases today that it finally showed up?

As mentioned in this thread, players who purchase Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition digitally should automatically receive Halo Wars: Definitive Edition digitally. Could you run through some of the suggestions on this thread and let us know if the issue persists?

I purchased Halo Wars 2 Ultimate way back in Feb. and I am still unable to play Halo Wars Definitive Edition on my Windows 10 PC, it says that the game is not available for my platform but the game is now in the store available for purchase, I just want
to know when I can play it on my computer.

 

Yeah, I've tried the Halo app and no dice.

Like him it's in my library but it says it doesn't work on this device along with all of the Halo Wars 2 Season Pass content which tells me it's all stuff that isn't out yet.
