    Purchased Halo The Master Chief Collection but can’t play it


    So I purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection back in 2023. It was on sale for like $15 bucks at the time. I have played it since then and then really got back into Fallout since the show on Amazon came out.

    Fast forward to today. I went to go play Halo, and it’s Given me the error message “To Play This, you’ll need to buy it”. I even went to check my purchase history to be sure I wasn’t crazy, and I absolutely did buy it. The Halo Icon has a small exclamation mark on the lower right hand side. I don’t want to have to repurchase anything since I already bought it. Anyone experience anything similar? How can I fix this?

    XBox1 playing discs, not online

    Halo Reach is not on the Master Chief Collection disc, only the Halo CE, 2, 3 & 4 are. If you want to play Halo reach, then you can purchase the dlc for the Master Chief Collection or download the Backward Compatible version.

    Thank you for confirming. Halo: Combat Evolved does require Halo: The Master Chief Collection in order to play. Combat Evolved acts as an add-on of sorts for the Master Chief Collection. You will need the full purchase of the Master Chief Collection in order to own all the titles within the package.

    Hi, the version of odst you purchased, was it the xbox one version for Halo the Master chief collection or the Xbox 360 version of the game? If it was the Master Chief collection version, then you need the master chief Collection installed on your Xbox
    One to be able to download the game.
