Purchased game taken off game pass now just gone?

I downloaded Red dead redemption 2 story mode with game pass and during that time I ended up buying just the story mode of the game and now that it’s removed off game pass. I don’t have the game on my Xbox anymore and I can’t find the story mode download anywhere. On the Xbox store it says I own it but doesn’t give me any way to download it I paid like $40 for this game what do I do?

So here's what happened. RDR has 2 versions on the store. The Story and the Online. The Online is the base game and without it, you can't play the Story mode. Now what happened was, the Online was on Game Pass for a long time so all players needed to do was purchase the Story edition to play.

Now the Online was removed from Game Pass recently, making the Story Mode unplayable. In order to access the Story again, you'll need to purchase the base game, once that's done, you'll be good to go.

Red Dead Online is required to play Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode

Thats according to the description of the game, as both elements are now removed from gamepass you would need online mode to use the story mode.

Was it a Game Pass game/trial which has now been taken off perhaps?

Hi All.

Update is that the game has now been purchased throuh xbox.com but now requires xbox live. Gone to purchase the game pass ultimatebut now says need an adult but cannot ask permission. How can it be purchased?

Game Pass is a subscription base service that allows you to play the games that are currently on the service as a subscription. If you purchase the games then you don't have to be concerned about when the games will be taken off the service.

Personally, I like purchasing my game digitally.
