Purchased game from Microsoft store and it will not launch

These steps can help you, give it a try.

Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.

1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app

2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset. Do this for the game too.

3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.

5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

I do not have the Xbox (Beta) app installed at home nor was I instructed to install it when I installed the game through the Microsoft Store. I've pinned The Outer Worlds app in my taskbar to launch the game subsequently.

Just to make sure that I understand, I purchased the full game ($65) from the Microsoft Store, and not the monthly subscription, Xbox Game Pass for PC. Is saving to the cloud not possible if I bought the game from the Microsoft Store? When I first launched
the game and was instructed to sign into my Microsoft account, it sure made it seem like cloud saves were the purpose for that.

Be sure to login your correct account from the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store.

Launch the Xbox app and sign in with the Microsoft account you use for Xbox.
Select your gamerpic, then select Settings.
Under Account, select Change my Microsoft Store account.
Follow the on-screen instructions and sign in to the Store with the Microsoft account you used to purchase the game.

I think games typically do leave Gamepass at the end of the month. That game could have been an exception?

I have the exact same problem. I bought it from the MS Store and I've been playing it fine for weeks and all of a sudden today It won't launch and just keeps saying "Error 0x82D40003 occurs when you launch a game, Sign in with the account that purchased
the game or app, or if it's a trial version that has expired, purchase the game or app from the Microsoft Store. For detailed instructions, select help." I'm using the right account and I've tried everything in help section and nothing has worked. This is
frustrating and ridiculous.
