Purchased battlefield on line but play want me to subscribe

I'm assuming it's Battlefield 2042 that you bought. If so, that game does not have single player so it would only be online.

You own the game, but in order to play online it requires at least Game Pass Core. All games require Game Pass to play online with the exception of free-to-play games.

Yes you are correct. When I made the full purchased which I have done with other games I thought I would be able to play as a standalone game. ?

I purchased battlefield yesterday on my Xbox yesterday and download it to the system. Paid full price of $146.89.

When I try to play it says I need to subscribe. When purchasing I selected full payment expecting no need to subscribe. Please help.

I assume its asking you to subscribe to gamepass.

Playing online multi-player has always required a gamepass core subscription (formerly known as xbox live gold) with the exception of free to play games such as fortnite or warzone.
