Purchased and redeemed an Xbox Gold Live card, can it be transferred to my sons account?

Unfortunately, you can't transfer Gold memberships like that.

On the Xbox One the "Home Console" can share the Gold membership to other accounts on that very console, but the Xbox 360 console can't do that.

You need to either buy a separate Gold membership for your son via Prepaid Gold cards, or subscribe to the Gold membership with his account.

No there isnt any way. Nothing is transferable between accounts. What you can do however is use the balance on your account to gift a game of your sons choosing to their own account by selecting "buy as gift" when purchasing whatever game they want.

It's a fact the MS Points cards or MS Prepaid cards for Xbox Live Gold, can only be redeemed by LIVE accounts based in the country of purchase.

Hello again Matt, this is really weird, but to make a purchase through your child's account, you have to add a billing address and also your credit card and with that make the purchase.

As for prepaid cards, you don't necessarily need to do it every month, you can purchase a one-year Live Gold, redeem your account son, and then a one-month Ultimate and redeem, so you'll convert Live Gold to 13 months of Game Pass Ultimate.

But to do this you cannot have any active subscriptions to your child's account.

as far as I know is that it isn't possible to purchase Gold with your account balance (currency amount on your account).

It can be purchased via redeemable Xbox Live Gold cards or via payment options like a credit card on your account.
