Purchased a Gamer Tag change, was charged but tag was not changed

I ordered and paid for my tag to be changed today. The site said it was completed, and I got an email confirming the charge. Yet my tag is identical to what it was. MS has no way to inquire about this type of order.

Am I going to be banned or something if I file a claim with my CC company?

It can take some time for the servers to fully update. If it doesn't update within 24 hours, contact support. You can request a call back or chat with support at http://support.xbox.com/contact-us (If you don't see those options, change the category/topic until you do. Billing & Subscriptions and "I don't recognize a charge" usually work).

If you were to file a claim with your card company without speaking to Microsoft first, that can be seen as marketplace theft which can result in a ban.

Any modifications to a gamer tag is considered a change and there is a charge for changing gamertags.

Greetings, Fluffy. Looks like you're having some trouble getting your new gamertag to show up. My apologies! The first step you should take to get it to display is to re-download your profile. Here are the steps you can take to do this:
