Purchase Assistance

I use Microsoft's Family Safety to restrict the activities of my child on his Windows PC. He would like to purchase a game (Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC) and sent me a request to approve the purchase. I've given my permission for the purchase, and it gives me an option to buy it for my child; however, when I try and complete the purchase I get the following error message: "Something isn't working on our end. Wait a bit, then try here again." I get this message whether I try and complete the purchase on my mobile phone (via the Family Safety app) or on his desktop PC.

I've tried calling Microsoft's support lines, but they constantly redirect me to help.microsoft.com (which in turn redirects to support.microsoft.com). It's a bit like Dante's 9 Circles of Hell, because I can't find a solution to my problem in the help articles, so I try calling and am then sent back to the web (only to repeat the process). In the end I'm reminded why (until I bought this computer about a month ago) I've been a happy Apple user for 20+ years.

If anyone has a suggestion I'm certainly willing to listen. Fyi...I've checked my credit card information. It's entered correctly. Alternatively, if anyone actually knows how to reach an actual human being at Microsoft, then that would be helpful too.

May I know if you tried the oppsotive?

I mean, disable temporarily ask to buy for the child account:

"Sign in to your Family page with an adult Microsoft account.

Find the child's name and select More options > Spending.

Under the Ask to buy section, switch Needs organizer approval to buy things to Off."

if that doesn't work you can try gifting the game using your own account:

In the Xbox store link (https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/minecraf...)

Click on the three little dots > buy as a gift

Then type the child account email address and after couple minutes your son is going to receive an email with a 25 characters redeemable code.

Use his account to redeem the code here:

And that's it. He should be able to download and play the game

Microsoft may already be involved in such programs, I know they are as far as technology in education goes.

You might also look online for charities in your area that might have what you are looking for.

The microsoft rewards program lets you earn points by doing bing searches, taking quizzes and daily poll questions. And the rewards app on xbox one lets you earn even more points by unlocking achievements, buy game and movies or just checking out new
games and movies as well. You can exchange 1.000 points to be a $1 donation to a charity. Of course you can donate more if you want. There are a few to pick from. I think the boys and girls club was one along with others just like it.
