Public Library Game Pass

Hello All

I work at a public library and we are looking into getting the pc xbox game passes for patron to be able to stream and play games on our low end pcs. Has anything else here done such a thing?

We like that parental controls are a thing. We less like that we'll have to pay for an account for each computer. Does anyone know if there are any programs pointed at places such as public libraries?

Im just starting the project planning phase of this, so any information would be helpful.

game pass is not licensed as far as I know for use in public facilities, , and as far as I know there is no program for libraries and such, though I believe there should be.

Your best bet would be to send a letter to Microsoft, no one here with this level of information or power reads or posts here, and inquire that way. It’s quite possible your library system already has a point for contact that they source games and other software from. It doesn’t look like Gamepass is available, but other things are. These are definitely the best people to help you

Parental controls are absolutely a must to keep patrons from changing settings, making unwanted purchases, etc.
Creating child accounts which will be the public accounts for the patrons
The parent accounts should be password or pass code protected
Each account needs its own subscription

You will need to purchase GamePass Ultimate per account, as there is currently no program pointed towards something like this. If you want cloud gaming in order for low-end PCs to run higher end games as the regular PC Gamepass subscription does not offer cloud gaming. Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass | Xbox

However, there are often promotions available, you can sign up each account for 1 month for $1 currently.

Per the official rules if it's in the catalog it counts... "Next play any game that is offered in the Game Pass library with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on your console."

The game is still in the catalog regardless of it you own it or not.

Most public libraries provide free access to PCs, you can go to enforcement's website and file an appeal

In fairness, public libraries are becoming extinct.

To avoid mistake, the more simple is to go to full library and game pass library

You will find all active games inclued in the game pass
