PTT does not work unless gamebar is opened

So here we are yet again, two threads later. Mods don't do anything except close old threads that bring up this issue stating updates and yada yada. I am running the very latest updates and PTT still does not work unless the gamebar physically is open on
my computer. As soon as you windows+g it away or go say play a game it does not work anymore.

My push to talk only works when game bar is open and visible, being the "active window". It does not work on desktop, in sea of thieves, or anywhere unless it is open and visible.

I have a loud house, and when I'm in an xbox party I have to use push to talk. It's mandatory unless I want to spam everyone with noise. So now I just have to manually mute my mic and manually unmute it whenever I have to talk.

This issue has been persistent for months now, with no solution available.

I have personally gone into the background processes and set every overlay or exe related to gamebar on adminstrator to no avail.

I would like this solved, otherwise whats the point..........might as well just put discord on xbox and make all our lives easier.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue with PTT on the Xbox Game Bar while in an Xbox Live party. I know it can be frustrating to have to open the overlay anytime you want to talk with friends using PTT. When did this issue start occurring?
Did PTT on the Xbox Game Bar work as intended before a recent update to the Game Bar?

There may not be a solution if this feature has encountered a bug and the only way to fix it would be to report the issue to the program developers to look into the issue and introduce a fix in a patch. The best way to report this issue to the developers
is to use the Feedback Hub app on Windows 10. Just search for the app in the search bar or install it
from the Microsoft Store.

Any issues with the Xbox Game Bar or any gaming issues with the Xbox platform on Windows 10 should go through the Feedback Hub app if a know solution or workaround cannot be found.

how has this not been fixed yet? I have been having the same issue and its clearly because you cannot run the gamebar as administrator. I remember this being an issue with ventrilo or even teamspeak back in the day. VoiP programs need administrator to work
above the order of processes such as playing a game.

PTT does not work while playing any game period, you have to have the gamebar open which completely renders the feature useless and worthless.

having the same issue when gamebar is not open in the foreground every other program can use the mic just not xbox or gamebar unless its on top.

Hello Community,

For some reason the Gamebar does not want to open for me on the game Tibia.

I click "yes this is a game" and nothing happens.

It was working just a week or so ago.

I have all updates as far as i know.

The Gamebar opens right up for any other game.

any feedback would be appreciated.

Open Gamebar open Gamebar Widget Menu and add "Looking for group". Done.

Open Console Companion and do like always. Done

Don't open Xbox App because Xbox App is not Gamebar nor Companion.
