PS4 Microsoft Unlinking Not Working (Minecraft)

My friend (who plays on PS4) has been having problems with unlinking his Microsoft account, he wants to switch accounts, as he made no progress on the current one and wants to sign in back into his other one with progress (so he has no problem with losing progress)

When he tries to unlink from using the in-game unlink feature it doesn't work and will say "Oops! Looks like this account is already connected, Please sign in with your previously connect Microsoft account, [Insert Gametag here]"

Things to Note:
Deleting Save Data doesn't work
He doesn't know any of the information of his email

I did not understand correctly. Does your friend want to unlink the Microsoft Account from the PS4 account or he just wants to sign in with another Microsoft Account which is linked to another PS4 account?

I ask because, from the Minecraft website:

"Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation account, neither the Microsoft account nor the PlayStation Network account can be associated with a different account. 

If you choose to unlink accounts, then purchases will be returned to the account which made the purchase. Even after unlinking, Microsoft and PlayStation accounts can only be re-linked to the original account."

So if he just wants to sign in with another Microsoft Account which is linked to another PS4 account, this can be done. Now if he wants to link the PS4 to another Microsoft account, this cannot be done, unfortunately.

As i said to someone else If you go on your PS4 MC then got to settings, profile, then while logged into the microsoft account you dont want, go down to Unlink Microsoft Account. It sadly doesnt work for me
and says maybe check internet connection. Tell me if it say the same for you

Yes, I get the same error message (check your internet settings) when I try to unlink my sons minecraft account that is connected to his PS4. By accident, I linked MY microsoft account to his (PS4) minecraft account. Is there a way to reset this? Please!
I really want to play minecraft with my son!
