No there isn't, even if you change his account to teen and change the gamer picture then change his account back to a child, the custom pic will delete immediately. It's a good idea to do what StuartATrueRed has suggested

I also suggest you look into changing your child to a child account if they are not, if they are turn off the ability to make purchases. If your child knows your account information change it, immediately update your password.
