    As recent debates on game ownership and aggressive DRM continue, I’d like to propose **“Xbox-Lite”** – a small USB device that enables console-style, hardware-based DRM authentication for PC gamers.

    Concept
    1. **USB-A form factor**
    - Plug-and-play hardware key that authenticates Xbox / Windows titles
    - Works fully offline once licenses are synced

    2. **License sync & verification**
    - Periodic online updates refresh the license list
    - Offline mode uses stored hashes for verification

    3. **Benefits for publishers & Microsoft**
    - Secure, hardware-level DRM without constant online checks
    - New hardware sales + verification-service fees for MS
    - Seamless migration of PC gamers into the Xbox ecosystem

    4. **Possible extension**
    - “Expansion kit” with an optical drive so disc-based Xbox titles run on PC

    Expected impact
    - Genuine customers can finally play offline without resorting to cracks

    I would like to add also that my proposed lite xbox would not work as a stand alone, it would need the bundled Xbox in order to work.

    Hi, you can't do what you propose, your PC can't read the data the xbox stores on your USB device.

    & your DVD is of the PC DRM unless you have burned the Xbox Live DRM on the DVD...

    A DVD burner & DVD+R DL, isn't an Authorized device for transferring HALO Legends, as the usage rules state..
    That's not what the rules state. The rules state you can download to an Authorized device and you can play back on an Authorized
    device. That's it.

    It's an Xbox ONLY Download IceStorm III & any DRM on a PC would expire & your DVD is of the PC DRM unless you have burned the Xbox Live DRM on the DVD...
