Project XCloud - not all ISP's are the same

When you switched ISPs, did you also change the connection type? For example from DSL to Cable or 3G/4G/5G cellphone based internet?

Be aware that cable for example is a shared medium, and the more people connect on the same cable trunk as you, the less bandwidth everyone on the cable gets. Similar things happen with cellphone based connections.

Also, different ISPs might use different routes to connect to internet servers. Maybe Sky uses a "cheaper" and slower route to the xCloud services, or purposefully throttles bandwidth to high bandwidth services like video streaming services. Unfortunately,
ISPs don't tell their customers that they are throttling. And usually, if they detect you connecting to one of the better known speed test services, they will put you on the "fast lane" temporarily, to show you "Yes, look at your blazing fast speed. See? Everything
is fine. Trust us. Mwwaahahaahaha!" and as soon as the test is over, throttle you again.

Also, if you switched routers, and still use the same connection method (i.e. you used DSL before and still use DSL with Sky), see if you got the sign in information from Sky and see if you can use your old router to connect to Sky (unless the router has
a modified firmware that doesn't allow configuration for different ISPs).

It's still a beta so there will be issues with some services.

I found that sticking with my 5G connection works so much better for Xcloud. You could try that and see if this helps.

Check to see if your router has the option for 5GHz WiFi. I am with Virgin and my old router didn't support 5GHz WiFi so XCloud was stuttery. I have recently had a replacement router which supports 2.4 & 5GHz and now XCloud is a lot better runnin on the
5GHz.

We switched from Virgin to Sky just before Christmas and the drop in quality of XCloud is clear. Even sat right next to the router my phone threatens to drop the signal. Games are laggy and graphics frequently glitchy. Anyone else had similar issues
or knows how to fix it?

Its a known issue but its not specific to xbox ita a design flaw of their home hub

The only known fix is to replace the router
