Profile sign out when controller dies

The controller is assigned to the gamer profile when you start the console and sign in. If that controller dies and you grab the other one, the console can't assign it because your profile already has a controller assigned to it. IE: only one controller
can be assigned to each gamer profile at a time. So, your best bet (when a controller should die, that is) just swap the battery packs instead of the controller all together. It saves a bunch of time and you don't have to mess around with controller reassignment.

Another option, if your controller dies mid game, just wire it in until the match is over. Then, you can safely swap controllers or battery packs without killing your K/D... if its FPS your playing, anyway. Hope this helps!

Well, first of all, as far as I can tell controllers don't really get associated with a profile like they did on the 360. The Kinect is able to tell who is using what controller, and so even if you swap controller while playing a game, it should continue
to work.. I've tried it. Especially useful when the battery dies, and it's simply a matter of picking up another controller and continuing. On the 360, this could be a problem if the other controller was already turned on, as it wouldn't let you sign in to
that controller without first signing out.. could be a problem if you were playing a game.

If you go into the Kinect tuner thing on the Xbox One, it will show your profile picture above your head, and if it also has a controller pic there, then it knows you're using that controller.

The two profiles are yours, and a guest profile. The Kinect will try to work out who is using which controller. Try it and see if it works.

When you sign in, are you using a second controller or are you using one controller? Generally, I recommend signing out of that profile and signing into the intended profile of use unless both players are using the Xbox One. This reduces the chance for any
profile issues.

great it gets worse I deleted my account from the Xbox and now it won't let me get it back says its still on there even though it is not. Great looks like I can't use my Xbox One X anymore

ya i am also having issues with this new dashboard, i cant sign in my other controller when one dies. before it was easy now it has been a horrible experience.... i have disliked this new dash nothing seems to be convenient anymore. please tell me i am just
missing something and not seeing the button to assign controllers to a profile because i hate this turn off your xbox just to switch controllers crap!!
