I can't friend my friend because I have a privacy setting saying i can't do things online. So i looked around and can't find anything.I NEED to find out how to do it.

How to change Xbox LIVE online safety and privacy settings

You are allowed change the online safety and privacy settings for any profile on your console.

How to change your safety and privacy settings

Steps to follow:

First, you have to go to the My Account page

You need to sing in to your Xbox LIVE account clicking Sing In at the upper-right corner of the page.

Go to Settings and Preferences and select Privacy and Online Settings.

Now change the settings.

How to change your child’s safety and privacy settings

Steps to follow:

First, you have to go to the My Account page

You need to sing in to your Xbox LIVE account clicking Sing In at the upper-right corner of the page.

Proceed to Settings and Privacy and press Child.

Note: You’ll be asked for the parental Microsoft account in order to make changes to the child account’s safety settings.

Now change the settings.

I find it easier to navigate and see my options when on the Xbox.com website. You can see the options there that will allow you to see your friends.

If you find that you cannot make changes on that page, then it would likely be due to your account being identified as a Child account, and in that case you would need an adult in your Microsoft Account Family to make the account setting changes for your
account, which would be done the same way on the Adult Account, following those instructions and they would be able to select your account to make those changes for.

hello, KubaBieniek you need to click on your profile picture in the top right of the second picture you posted then you'll see three dots like ... then click Xbox settings and it should take you to a site that looks like this.

I had the same problem,

so I tried this out too, but when I got to Microsoft's website, I couldn't even sign in, because I couldn't click on the sign-in button, seemed like there is no URL link. So I searched for some solutions and I found out that I had to change my internet browser
(was using google chrome and changed to Microsoft Edge) and I finally could sign in. But when I tried to click on the 3 dots and go to Xbox settings, it sent me to Xbox support... I had it in Czech, so I changed the language to English (United States worked
for me, but other states could too I think) and tried it again and then it sent me to this site (mentioned in the quote). So I changed the settings and can play/access online features.

I hope i made it clear.

I contacted microsoft and they figured it out. You need to change your account age to be over 18. Mine was 17 for some reason, so i changed the date of birth.
