Profile picture guidelines? Plus what should I do?

I understand that you are having issues changing your profile picture on the Xbox app. Microsoft has specific guidelines for profile pictures, and it's possible that your avatar picture may not meet these guidelines. Let us work as a team so that we can get to the bottom of this.

Here are some of the guidelines for profile pictures:

• The image must be a JPG or PNG file.
  
• The image must be at least 1080 x 1080 pixels.
  
• The image must not contain any offensive or inappropriate content.
  
• The image must not contain any copyrighted material.

If you have already checked that your avatar picture meets these guidelines, then there may be an issue with the Xbox app. I recommend trying the following steps:

1. Sign out of your Xbox account on the app.

2. Uninstall the Xbox app from your device.

3. Restart your device.

4. Reinstall the Xbox app.

5. Sign back in to your Xbox account on the app.

6. Try changing your profile picture again.

If you profile picture gets removed or reported, you icon should change to what it was within the Xbox preselected profiles pictures. There are a few guidelines to make sure this doesn't happen if you are happy with the profile picture that you have.

I don’t know what previous pictures you used, but most times inappropriate images of any nature can lead to them being against the guidelines. As long as your profile pictures don’t have any vulgarity, swearing, hate speech etc. you should be fine.

You said you keep getting into trouble, has your account had action taken against it for the pictures you have used? If it has, then you should see the reasonings why it has been flagged as being against the guidelines.
