Profile lost - unable to add or restore old profile

Your game saves would be saved on your hard drive. If you go to your settings and storage, you can find the games you want to remove the saves from and delete those save files (they are saved separate from the actual game files). Game saves on the 360 are
not automatically saved to the cloud unless you have them set up to be saved there. If that is the case, you can also access your cloud storage and delete those save files. You don't have to delete your profile and redownload it.

However, depending on the game, some information may be saved on the game's servers. In those cases, you would have to start over on another profile.

IloMilo and BattleBlock don't use local gamesaves or I wouldn't have this issue, I could try playing offline, but somehow I don't think they are server based saving. Looking online I believe they are saved as GPD files in my profile, but thinking that way,
these are likely the same files that store achievements, which I seem to recall are also pulled back on restore

These, like many arcade games, store the game save data as part of the game download file. You should be able to delete the game from your storage device and download it again, allowing you to create a new game save.

Have you done any of the basic troubleshooting for the Xbox? If you haven't already done so, Go ahead and do a

hard reset and power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and
turn on the Xbox.

Try that first and let us know if you still can't add a new profile.
