PROFILE DOB MODIFICATIONS

We know how important it is for you to manage your son's account and is unable to because of their account being adult. Just to set your expectation, no one here in Xbox Forums manage and update an account. Microsoft accounts offer a single sign-in to other Microsoft services, including Outlook.com, OneDrive, Skype and Xbox. To avoid any privacy or security breach to your data, changes to Microsoft accounts are all automatically handled and validated. We will not be able to manually make any changes to the account, but for now please allow me to perform whatever support we can provide for this issue.

To answer your question, you may or may not be able to update your son's Microsoft account. Changing the date of birth varies depending on the current listed age and local laws.

To add to what Smwutches said.

When you changed your DOB was the DOB that you changed still considered under 18?

If so then you are still considered a child till that DOB reaches the age of 18.

When a DOB is entered into an account when it is setup that is the DOB that is tied to the Xbox profile and there is no way to change it in the Xbox profile part of things.

The thing that determines if an account is a child account is the Date of Birth (DOB) that was put onto an account when it was ORIGINALLY setup.

If that DOB is still under 18 by law it has to have an adult account attached to it in the family.

You can actually have multiple adult accounts in a family so just because there is already an adult account in your family is not what is holding you up it is the DOB when the account was originally setup.

Changing the DOB on the account will not affect the DOB for the Xbox profile once an account is setup the DOB thats put in is the DOB that the Xbox profile sees and it is set in stone there is no way to change that.

DOB on Microsoft accounts do not change the DOB on Xbox Profiles once it is entered in on the Microsoft account it is set in stone for the Xbox profile and will not change you will have to wait till the DOB that was originally entered in reaches the age
of majority in your country which is 18 in most countries.
