Problems with the new 1440p option (in beta-ring), need help

Hello Commuity,

I just bought a new TV that supports QHD (aka 2560 x 1440 or 1400p), the LG 34UC98 because MS started advertising that the consoles (in the alpha and beta-ring so far, and soon everyone) can start using 1440p/QHD if their TVs support it.

So i bought new (but quite expensive) tv as it was way cheaper then getting a new xbox one x and a 4k tv with HDR and everything.

But it won't work, i can only see options for 720p and 1080p.

I started by contacting the support-chat, but "Kenneth" (who was probably a useless bot, it sure seemed that way...) was no help at all, and didn't even know about the new 1440p update (I had to link him info from microsofts webpage which was kinda absurd).

His only advice was to report a problem on the Xbox (I did that, even though it _never_ helps and they _never_ contact you back even if you ask them to and add contact info), and when i told him that that would do anything at all he said i should try the
xbox ambassadors.

I then did that, and guess what?

They didn't have anything to say at all (said i was the wrong place, thanks "Kenneth") and said i should post in the "support forum" (which i hope this is?).

Can ANYBODY help?

I just paid a thousand bucks for my new QHD-tv for this and so far i can't use it for anything as it only does 1080p (like my normal screen) but as its a bit smaller its useless and my money is in effect out the window.

I feel kinda cheated right now and would really appreciate some help - any help!

Need access to a specific preview ring (alpha, beta, delta) within the insiders ring

Dear microsoft support,

I bought a xbox one x on Tuesday and as I only own a 1440p monitor I would like to download the spring update in order to get 1440p support. I signed up for the insiders hub but I am not part of the appropriate update preview ring (alpha, beta, delta) to
finally download it. Is it possible that you put me in the one of the rings which already receive the spring update? This would be a win-win situation as I can use my pc monitor and microsoft gets feedback if I encounter any problems with the new 1440p feature.

I know that the access to these rings normally depends on the activity as an Xbox Insider. But as I would be one of the testers who actually will test the 1440p feature there might be the possibility to make an exception?

Xbox one x support 1440p pc monitor? i have a 1440p monitor but not visible option 1440p...only 1080p or 720p......help me please...

my monitor is new and the model is lenovo L24Q-10

 

Just learned it can only do something like 3500 x 1440 and can't take a bit of the edges to make it 2560 x 1440 (even though thats no problem taking a bit of the edges if using 1920 x 1080 for example).

I can't believe this ****, it says its a "extra wide QHD TV", but apparently my "QHD TV" can't do QHD (2560 x 1440).

And as it was a demo-model in the store (i got a decent discount, but that is worthless if i can't use the bloody tv) i can't even return it.

I am gonna wait until after the shop close and follow a certain sales-clerk home (jk...), because this is FU - my economy is _not_ good, and instead of saving up for real 4k tv with HDR (my Xbone S could use the HDR for games and 4k for video until i get
a Xbone X i just wasted a good amount of money on a tv that can't do what it was advertised as and which is 10 inches smaller then the one i been using so far.

I am so frustrated right now - its a real good screen but i can't use it for anything... :/

Never trust a sales-man, they ONLY think of what they get from making the sale and not about whether you can use it or whether its what you ask for.
