Problems with Privacy Settings

I recently got Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing for Xbox 360. On the main menu there's an option to go to the Xbox Live Marketplace, but when I press X to go there, an in-game message appears and says, "You
do not have sufficient Xbox Live privileges to access this feature." However, I can access and purchase items from the marketplace right from the Xbox Dashboard. The only things I've blocked in my privacy settings are 'Voice Data Collection' and 'Explicit
Content'. Maybe this has got something to do with me having a Teen account, but I can change my privacy settings on Xbox 360 just fine. This may not sound serious, but I would like to know how to get rid of that error message.

I also don't have Gold yet, so I don't know if online play is restricted too.

Xbox One Cant use the Settings?

I occasionally have problems accessing the privacy settings and I believe it prompts me to connect to live despite the fact that I am connected. I think it may be a problem with the XB One cloud system. Odd that yours affects the whole of settings though
and mine just the privacy setting.

So are you saying the solution is to just purchase stuff right from the dashboard rather than from the game?

 

That happens because you have a kids account...

 

That ellipsis at the end of your reply sounds as if you were trying to call me dumb. I said it happens in the game, but the marketplace works just fine from the dashboard.

Does the account have issues with any other games?

I would recommend purchasing
Xbox Live Gold.
