Thanks for coming to the forums. When you do the changes are you doing it on your phone? We recommend to try on a PC also try different browsers on the PC.

You can't change the microphone settings on xbox.com, you can only manage your online safety and privacy settings (Manage Xbox online safety and privacy settings | Xbox Support) there. You can however, troubleshoot the issue by following what's mentioned here => Fix microphone problems (microsoft.com).
