    i paid 3 days ago to change my gamer tag.it has changed on my phone it changed on my Microsoft account it changed on my Xbox x series ,but when i go to play 2019 cod mw, it still shows my old gamer tag. Tried everything reboot router reboot Xbox and still old gamer tag.cant request phone back as it says they have issues with the call back feature .so just get a robot assistant witch don't help. Am losing the will to live haha with this problem yet when i play foza its fine just cod .any help would be great, thanks

    as cod uses a call of duty account you need to head over to cod website, login and change it there, it is free to change and you should have approx 3 changes available, you then earn a change once every six months. same as epic games too, they use their own tag system as well.

    Yeah thats the problem with the new gamertag rules gamertags have to be less than 12 characters. There is no way to get the old gamertag back.

    I want to go back to an old gamertag on my xbox account, but it claims it is taken.

    When a gamertag change is made the old gamertag becomes available immediately.

    If you are trying to change the gamertag back to the old one and it is says its not available then its not available.

    So the gamertag that you are wanting back is PowerUpVoltage

    The problem is this MS made a new policy a couple months ago where any new gamertags including changes in gamertags have a limit of 12 characters.

    The old gamertag is 14 characters so this is why it is not available for you to change your gamertag back.
