Problems with Minecraft Bedrock Edition - Crossplay between W10 and Xbox One

Me and my friend have been playing a little survival game where I host (I'm playing on W10 on Windows 10 edition) and invite him through the Xbox app to play using his Xbox One.

It has worked beautifully before - however recently it has started taking us multiple restarts of his Xbox, my Xbox app, the game for both of us, me making a copy of our world etc. to let my friend connect.

It takes ages for him to load in and then just tells him he is unable to connect without giving any error codes or info as to why. We can usually get it working after a few restarts of various things but this isn't something that we want to keep doing over
and over again everytime we want to play.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue and has a solution for it or if anybody from reading through this has any ideas I can try to attempt a permanent solution?

Cloud Saved Games not working on xBox One

So I think this page lays out what you need.

The problem is that you can't transfer a world directly from Xbox 360 Minecraft to the latest Bedrock edition of Minecraft. You need to transfer it through the Minecraft: Xbox One edition first.

Basically you'll go from Minecraft: 360 Edition > Minecraft: Xbox One Edition > Minecraft (bedrock)

DLC missing

Which version of Minecraft did you purchase the DLC for.@ DLC for Xbox One Edition wont work on Minecraft (Bedrock Edition) and vice-versa

Sorry to hear about the issue with playing with friend. You can first try to just

Power cycle the Xbox console and his router, for the router just unplug it wait 30 seconds plug it back in.

Also Has the friend signed up for the preview program or enrolled it in now?

We have tried power cycling the Xbox and his router multiple times however it is never a definite solution.

We are both unaware as to what the preview program is?

Hello jade,

Then I suggest doing a
soft factory reset on the Xbox. Make sure you know the information for the account email/password, due to it will remove the profile. When you do the reset select keep my games and apps. Could be a corrupt file on the console.

Sorry for the late response. That didn't work, unfortunately.

Any other suggestions? I feel like it shouldn't be this difficult to crossplay when an entire update of Minecraft was dedicated to being able to play together this way.
