    Problems with microphone on Xbox One


    I bought two identical headsets for me and my son to play together on our consoles. My headset works fine, on my Xbox one X and Elite consoles. My son has the first Xbox one that included the Kinect. When we wanted to play together, I could only hear static
    from his microphone, so I tried his headset and controller on my consoles to find out, if there is a problem with the controller or the headset, nur both worked fine. So where could be the problem?

    That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
    or game chat.

    I asked EB games about the adaptor and they told me i dont need it with the controller that i have.

    I have tgen gone to my $2 shoo and bought some cheap earphones with microphone in the wire.

    It works.

    I cant explain why the headset still wont work.

    Frustrating !!

    Hi Brad,

    I spoke to EB games and they told me I do not need the adaptor because the controller already has the 3.5 mm jack for the headset.

    I am back to square one !

    Hi Chris,

    That would be the adapter you need. The headset will plug into that. With some third party headsets the volume will be blacked out.
