Problems with logging into Minecraft through Microsoft

Sorry to hear about what happened, however, may I know what device are you on so I could give you possible steps that may help?

I'm logging in with my microsoft account, through the microsoft account log in.

I've already migrated my account and it worked, because I played after it migrated. I've been having this issue after I changed to the new minecraft launcher they've released through the microsoft store, and I can't log in to Xbox Live through the Xbox app either.

this is not the problem. The problem is the restrictive privacy settings in the Xbox account. Additionally it turned out that the servers were out of sync. Thus the permissions displayed on one device when logged in, such as a MacBook, where different to the permissions shown on a Windows computer when logged in.

After going through the process of logging in and logging out and setting the permissions differently each time, and then ensuring that these positions updated correctly, we were able to use the chat option in Minecraft.

Summary: The problem is Microsoft Xbox account settings, and not Minecraft.

Perhaps Microsoft ought to stay away from well run companies instead of ruining them.

If the system tells you that the PS account is already linked to another Microsoft account that you do not know, you will need to contact Minecraft support via this link:

Please note the following information from the Minecraft support page:

"WARNING: Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation account, neither the Microsoft account nor the PlayStation:tm: Network account can be associated with a different account....

... If you believe that your Microsoft account or PlayStation:tm: Network account have been linked incorrectly, contact Minecraft support."

• Where did you "buy a minecraft account"? Do you mean you purchased the game?
  
• Did you purchase Minecraft through Mojang or Microsoft?
  
• Which version of Minecraft did you buy? Java or Bedrock?

Yes, I purchased the game through Microsoft, Java edition. I originally had it on PC but as of recent (since June) my MacBook. I can log into the Microsoft account, but the issue is that it isn't linked to my Minecraft account, for whatever reason. I can't get any use from the mojang site or anything because I got the game through Microsoft, but logging In with aforementioned account only logs in my Microsoft. So it doesn't allow me to actually get in.
