    Problems with FW rollback on Elite Series 2


    My Elite Series 2 Firmware is currently 5.17.3202.0.

    I want to connect the controller to my Nintendo Switch using Mission Control. Since FW 5.xx and up use Bluetooth LE i need to revert to an older firmware. But when i try this, i just get a generic "A problem occurred" error and Eventviewer shows a 201 Error from DeviceSetupManager "Cannot connect to Windows Metadata and Internet Services (WMIS)"

    Anyone has an idea what else i can try?

    your elite series 2 need repair...

    about elite series 2, I think this has more problem....

    I have 2 elite series 2, my rubber knobs on the hair trigger locks came off too.

    And My 'A' button is very bad..

    Of course. On my Elite Series 2 I'm on FW 5.11.3118.0

    It does not show on my PC / I cannot see it in the Xbox accessories because the console FW is too far ahead for the PC to understand at this time, however I am still able to use my controller to play my games on the PC when it is connected via USB-C. It does not register as a "Controller" on Bluetooth in this firmware.

    I've reverted my controller to 4.8.1908.0 and it registers on the PC via Bluetooth. I have not had any issues with gameplay.

    So no need to update now. If everything works, leave it be.

    Anyone else regret buying the elite series 2?

    I had no problem with the Elite Series 1 and I'm already getting ready to buy the Series 2!

    Elite Controller Bumpers

    Yeah the Elite Series 2 was basically improved from feedback of users of the Elite Series 1

    Many problems were fixed including the bumpers and the grip that also came loose after some time

    Hope to get an Elite Controller one day :)

    I have exactly the same issue with the new Series 2 controllers. I ordered the Electronic Volt version, but had to refund it because of the mentioned problem. Then I ordered the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, thinking a 150€ controller sure can't have these problems, but I was wrong.

    So here I am, stuck my old Elite Series 1 controller that still works after several years, but starts to show wear, and I can't upgrade to Series 2 without winning the series-2-build-quality-lottery.
